One of the most common problems with older speakers (foam edge type), is
the serious degredation of the outer foam ring.  It deteriorates over time,
and is mainly due to ozone and pollution agents in the air.  Usually both
of the woofers in a pair of speaker will have foam rot, but it may not be apparent
at first....... if the speakers have not been played for some time, it is not
nearly as noticeable.

IF YOU HAVE A WOOFER THAT HAS SOME FOAM ROT, CHANCES ARE
THE OTHER DRIVER IS BAD ALSO......

Typical labor costs are between $25-35 per speaker.... so you can save
on speaker repairs this year by having both speakers repaired!!!!

Just consider that a new pair of JBL Speakers will cost you approximately
4-5 times what you paid for your speakers.  To replace the typical woofer
runs between $250-$300 for each woofer... we can recone that same
woofer for 1/3 the price... and it will meet factory specs...
